Sometimes while working on your projects you will require a great deal of precision when placing elements. A simple drag & drop technique using mouse or touchpad might not be enough in such situations.
In UXPin you can place elements exactly where you want them using coordinates.
When you select an element, its actual position will be displayed under “General properties” menu on the right side of editor. You can change your element’s position using pixel values across X and Y axes freely:
Additionally, every time you move the element, a tooltip with X & Y values will be shown too:
Speaking of X & Y, you have two axes at your disposal: horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) with pixel values that are the base for position coordinates. It helps to adjust the position of your elements along the canvas.
You can also use keyboard arrows to move selected objects across the canvas.
Coordinates are only one of the ways to align elements on your canvas. In UXPin you can find a variety of smart guides and distribution tools that increase your precision and lower time spent on micromanaging considerably. It might be a small thing, but having an option to precise positioning in form of coordinates might help you out a lot during your work. Check it out now with your free trial!
